ABOUT
Classroom to Private Tutoring
I’ve been teaching for 20 years as I qualified as a secondary school English teacher in 2005 and have taught in both state and private schools in the UK and abroad.
In my last classroom role, I was Head of the KS3 English Curriculum and a Lead Practitioner, having been graded Outstanding by Ofsted. Alongside my teaching, I mentored and trained other teachers on delivering engaging and effective lessons that ensured maximum progress for every child.
In 2015, after my first child was born, I relocated from London to Marlow and began private tutoring in GCSE English and the 11+. My reputation grew quickly through word-of-mouth recommendations, and I soon made the decision to dedicate myself fully to tutoring rather than returning to the classroom.
SUPPORT
Supporting parents
I see the 11+ process as a real team effort, which is why I support parents just as much as I support children. It’s not only about the practice papers, it’s about feeling prepared, knowing what’s coming, and having the reassurance that your child is on track. I’ll keep you in the loop with regular feedback, webinars, and progress chats, and I’ll share practical tools like summer work packs and confidence-boosting workshops. My aim is to take away the stress and guesswork, so you and your child can approach the 11+ feeling calm, supported, and ready.
I will provide you with:
Regular feedback emails
Introductory webinars
Online progress meetings
Summer work packs
Summer success workshops
