YEAR 5 11+ PREPARATION COURSE

11 Plus Course

Black background with a white right-angled triangle in the center, resembling a 3D corner of a room.

Before your child starts the course, I invite all children to attend a taster session.

This gives your child the chance to:

  • Meet me in person

  • See where the lessons will take place

  • Experience what the classes will be like

During the session, I carry out a short, informal Maths and English assessment. This is not to screen them to see if I think they will pass; it simply allows me to see if I think they are working at age related targets and will be able to access the course in a group setting.

STRUCTURE

The Year 5 course begins in September of Year 5 and covers everything your child needs to be fully prepared for the exam.

We work on:

  • All question types

  • Speed and time management

  • Exam skills and strategies

Lessons are in small groups of no more than five children, so your child receives individual attention while still enjoying the benefits of learning alongside others.

Each lesson lasts one hour and children are set homework (around 90 minutes per week) to reinforce and practise what we cover.

We work on a fortnightly rotation:

  • Week 1: Maths + Verbal Reasoning

  • Week 2: Non-Verbal Reasoning + English

  • Demo videos for tricky Non-Verbal and Verbal Reasoning questions

  • Four mock exams with detailed feedback and scores to track progress and highlight focus areas
